Getting In Is a Conversation, Not an Obstacle Course

Our admissions process is designed to make sure you end up in the right program at the right time — for you.

How Our Admissions Process Works

There's no entrance exam, no portfolio submission, and no waiting months for a decision. Here's what actually happens: you fill in a short expression-of-interest form (five questions, takes four minutes), one of our team members calls or emails you within two business days, you have a twenty-minute conversation about where you're at and what you're hoping to get out of a program, and then we make a recommendation. Sometimes that recommendation is a specific upcoming cohort. Sometimes it's “wait until Term 3 when the format will suit you better.” We reserve the right to decline enrolments where we genuinely believe a program isn't the right fit — we'd rather be honest upfront than have you frustrated three weeks in.

What We Look For in Prospective Students

We don't use grades or formal credentials as filters. We look for these instead.

  • A Clear Enough Reason

You don't need a perfect answer, but you do need one. “I want to be better at explaining my work” is enough. “My boss told me to” on its own usually isn't — active engagement makes the cohort better for everyone, including you.

  • Realistic Time Availability

Our programs require four to six hours per week including sessions and project work. If you're about to move house, start a new job, and have a wedding to plan, this probably isn't the right term. We'll still be here in three months.

  • Willingness to Participate

Cohort learning only works when everyone shows up — literally and figuratively. We ask all students to commit to attending at least 80% of sessions and contributing to the shared project work. Silent passengers make the journey harder for the whole group.

“I expected the usual ‘here's the brochure, here's the bank details' experience. Instead, Lena from admissions spent half an hour with me, asked what I actually wanted to change in my job, and suggested the term three cohort over the one I'd been eyeing. She was right. Perfect timing.”

Fees, Payment Options, and Employer Support

Program fees range from $495 for a six-week evening format to $1,290 for a full twelve-week cohort course. Payment can be made upfront or split across two instalments at no extra cost. A number of Canberra employers — including several ACT Government directorates — have used professional development budgets to fund staff enrolments; we can provide a formal quote and program outline to support your internal approval. We don't offer VET FEE-HELP or HECS-HELP arrangements. If government funding or formal loan schemes are essential to your situation, please raise this early in the admissions conversation so we can be clear about what's possible.
